The Lutheran High School website is designed, developed, and updated in large part by the Computer II students.  If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions about how our students may improve the website please contact webmaster@lhssa.org

Lutheran High School is proud of the work, care, and pride our students pour into the website!

Registration Open

Registration for the 2008-2009 school year is in progress.   All students must complete the appropriate new student application or returning student application and pay the registration fee of $600.  Students whose accounts are in good standing may make a partial registration fee payment at the time they turn in their application.

Lutheran High School anticipates the availability of grant funds for tuition assistance for the 2008-2009 school year.  Awarding of tuition assistance will be based on financial need and the student's academic attitude and success.  Applications are available in the school office or on the Tuition Assistance link on the website.  Our School Code is 1375.  Applications must be postmarked or filed no later than June 15, 2008.

Approximately 60% of our seniors, who have taken the SAT, have scored above the 2007 national average of 1511.  In addition to scoring above the national average, the average test score of our students has increased by almost 100 points in the last two years.

Trivia Night

Friday, September 19, 2008 at Crown of Life Lutheran Church from 6:30 -9:30 Lutheran High School will hold Trivia Night.  Gather friends, relatives and neighbors for this fun-filled evening of trivia.  There will be 100 questions from 10 diverse categories.  Cost is $52 for a table of 8 ($6.50 per person).  Individuals or couples are welcome and will be paired with others.  Prizes will be awarded for the first place table!  There will also be a 50/50 raffle, heads or tails game, child care available for participants ($3 per child and advanced reservations required).  Refreshments will be available.  All proceeds benefit LHS Mustang athletics.

Lutheran High School Is Your Home For Valero Texas Open Tickets

The fundraiser that gives 100% of the money BACK to LHS!

LHS is a proud participant in the Valero Texas Open Chip In for Schools Program.  For every $10 ticket we sell to the Valero Texas Open at La Cantera (half the price of the daily ticket at the gate), 100% of it comes back to LHS!  And the donation is TAX DEDUCTIBLE!

How can you help?  Buy tickets (you don’t have to be a golf enthusiast – it’s for a good cause!) If you own a business or know someone who does that would like to purchase tickets to give to their customers or employees, we would be happy to sell them to them!  Ask businesses you frequent if they would display a sign  designating LHS as the place to get Valero Texas Open Tickets.

Ticket are on sale until October 12th and can be purchased through the High School by contacting Cathy Falzareno at cathy.falzareno@lhssa.org or you may purchase them online at www.golfsanantonio.org.  Remember, Schools not only get to keep 100% of the ticket sales but the top selling organizations also get to split a $15,000 purse.  Last year the Mustangs sold 166 tickets ($1660 back to the school!) and placed 10th in sales for San Antonio schools!! That effort earned us an additional $750 that went to our Boys Basketball team. Let’s earn more money this year by doubling our efforts this year!  Support your Mustangs and enjoy great golf!

Building Update

On July 11th the foundation permit was approved.  PECO construction has begun their mobilization of workers.  Large machinery for site preparation has arrived on campus and construction began in late July.  "The most beautiful hole we've ever seen" as described by basketball coach Bruce Biedinger, now sits directly in front of the classroom buildings.  Construction materials for the foundation and structure of the building are on campus and students, faculty and supporters of LHS are excited to watch the daily progress being made on the project.  March of 2009 is still the intended date to finish construction.

The project consists of the main gym building and several other rooms, including 1) art room, 2) choir / band room, 3) biology lab, 4) physics / chemistry lab, 5) weight room, 6) locker rooms, 7) cafeteria, 8) athletic trainer's room and 9) gymnasium.  Please remember that a time table of completion is a "best guess" and many factors outside of PECO's control may move the completion date one way or the other.

The cost for the building is just under $3 million.  We are blessed to have the Greehey family make this donation.  However, funding is still needed to furnish the rooms that are being built.  It will take approximately $700,000 more to furnish the classrooms and gym.  If you are so moved by the Holy Spirit to get involved financially with this wonderful ministry, please contact us at 210-694-4962 to learn more.  Prayers are always welcomed and appreciated as we work together to build God's ministry here at Lutheran High School of San Antonio.

Lutheran High School Receives

$3 Million Dollar Gift!!!

Lutheran High School is proud to announce that we are the recipients of a $3 million dollar gift from Mr. and Mrs. Bill Greehey.  LHS would like to extend our deepest thanks to the Greehey family for their support of the ministry at LHS.  The donation will be used to fund construction of Phase I of the building plan, which will include a double gym, band, art, and science classrooms along with a weight room, locker rooms, and a cafeteria.  Our Lord and Savior has truly blessed Lutheran High School, and we give thanks to all who have been called to be a part of the ministry at Lutheran High School over the past thirteen years.  May the Lord continue to provide and bless the ministry opportunities presented before us in San Antonio.

Since the time I was a young child at the peak of my awesome Lutheran education, my parents prayed and went to planning meetings, prayed some more, raised some money, prayed some more and went to more planning meetings for a Lutheran High School to be built in the city of San Antonio.  Even though I have moved away...I will continue to go back, seek out the teachers that made impacts in my life and give my support in anyway I can.  I do this because I believe in the Christ-centered goodness of this school.  This [gift] has been another amazing answer to my prayers."
